Camp Heartland Expands Board of Directors
Organization moving forward in development of next stage of growth
Minneapolis - November 20, 2002 - Camp Heartland, a national non-profit organization that
enhances the lives of children infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS today announced that Nita
Singh has been elected to the organization's Board of Directors. Camp Heartland is entering into a
new stage of development and growth for the organization and is counting on an active Board for
ideas and direction.
"Camp Heartland is thrilled that Nita Singh has joined our national Board of Directors," said Camp
Heartland Founder, Neil Willenson. "Nita is a long-time, generous donor to our efforts and is sure to
make an immediate impact on our Board. She brings a wealth of business savvy along with a passion
to make a difference. I am eager to work with Nita in making life better for even more children living
with HIV and AIDS."
Nita Singh is President of American Business Communication, (ABC), an independent
telecommunications management firm based in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Since Singh founded her
business over a decade ago, she's saved companies more than $100 million through recovering
retroactive credits and erroneous charges and optimizing clients' telecommunications products and
services. Singh began her involvement with Camp Heartland by spearheading all the
telecommunications support for a national fundraiser benefiting Camp Heartland.
"My involvement with Camp Heartland represents a balance in my life that recognizes the value of
community and of contributing in some way towards a greater good, " said Singh. "I have found both
the people involved and the children participating to be spectacular. This organization makes a
difference in people's lives and for me to be associated in some small way truly is a pleasure."
Camp Heartland provides children forever affected by the isolation and tragedy of HIV/AIDS the
opportunity to experience - sometimes for the first time - the pure joys of being a kid. At the same
time, these experiences provide confidence, hope, pride, life skills, and powerful memories that give
them strength when times are tough.
