New Telecom Partnership Aims To Keep Industry in Check
High Rate of Billing Errors and Service Contract Complexities
Minneapolis - May 7, 2003 - American Business Communication Inc., (ABC), a leading independent telecommunications management company, announced today that it has formed a strategic partnership with Memo Enterprises LLC, to expand its client services capabilities to address the increasing regulatory complexity related to phone company billing practices. Memo Enterprises will strengthen ABC's suite of telecommunications management services by providing regulatory and contractual expertise to businesses attempting to gain fair and competitive phone services.
In auditing telephone bills, ABC is finding nearly 90% contain errors including overcharges and misinformation. This new partnership supports businesses that seek to correct these practices along with the increasing complexity of contracting for data, voice and wireless services from individual or multiple providers.
"In almost every instance we look at a phone bill we are finding errors," ABC's President Nita Singh said. "And now with the rash of phone companies going bankrupt, many times the service contracts that businesses have signed are crippling the ability for that company to not only correct billing issues but also are complicating actions to put new phone and data solutions in place for the future."
"Memo Enterprise views its ability to support ABC's clients as critical to leveling a telecommunications playing field that is confusing and difficult for almost everyone involved to understand and negotiate," said Tony Mendoza, Memo Enterprise CEO. Mendoza just recently left the Minnesota Department of Commerce as Deputy Commissioner of Telecommunications. "Businesses have definitely been underrepresented in the complex and often times contentious debate governing telecommunications service delivery and regulatory oversight."
